OPEN CALL
Dancers and Performers wanted for Research Project in September 2014
The collective patty&britty plans a performance and video project. The aim is to investigate the relationship between body, space and gravity. Approaching physico-chemical principles the collective examines functional/mechanical body movements, partially seen through the eyes of video camera.
molecule no.2 is a research project as part of the work series molecules, looking at the human body as an object. A starting point for research will be chemical reaction kinetics.
Dressed in full-body suits, the faces invisible, the performers crawl, slide and roll in various speeds across the floor of the Skaterhalle
(Skateboarding Hall) of Mellowpark, Treptow-Köpenick/Berlin. The aim is to investigate the differences in energy between the bodies among themselves and the space with its curved walls and bulges of the floor. What kind of movements and encounters emerge? What/how do we perceive through other senses without seeing? Attraction, repulsion, light/heavy energies, acceleration, deceleration, coincidences..
The diverse forces within the space - while a body is moving - bring about the outcome of these interactions. Inspiration is the General Relativity Theory of Albert Einstein, based on the idea that a space is never straight but curved.
Research period: 6 days from 10am - 3pm:
Mo 22nd, Tue 23rd, Wed 24th September
Mo 29th, Tue 30th September and Wed 1st October
Performers need to be available throughout the entire research.
Venue: Mellowpark Treptow-Köpenick, S-Bahn Spindlersfeld
Travel expenses are paid.
Application: If you are interested please send an e-mail with a short motivation letter and CV until September 14th to: [email protected]

OPEN CALL FOR SERIES OF PERFORMANCE AND VIDEO PRESENTATIONS, AUGUST 22nd – 25th 2013
Bodied Spaces – be/verkörperte Räume
Inviting new forms of discussion about the body
Follow BODIED SPACES on Facebook
We are looking for new forms of viewing the body and its conditions in live performance and video art. The works should emphasize a non-narrative
viewpoint on the body and examine opposition between objectivity and subjectivity in an experimental set-up. The question of whether it is possible to
experience your own body and another body purely as an object – even though this is a contradiction in itself – provides a basis for the artistic process
and eventual outcome.
We are looking for live performances and video works to be presented at Art Claims Impulse Gallery Berlin from August 22nd – 25th 2013.
Live performances should last from 10min and no longer than 25min. Video works should last no longer than 20min. Due to a limited performance space
and budget, both performances and video works should have minimal technical requirements.
We offer a platform to present your work live and to promote a dialogue between the presenting artists and the audience. Unfortunately we cannot offer a fee, however the works (or excerpts of the works) can be presented online after the event.
Please send the *material with a description of your project to: [email protected]
*Due to ecological reasons we would prefer that you send the material in digital form.
Vimeo link: Please bare in mind that you send the original movie to us for previewing. So please protect your work via password and send the password to us. If your work is already on vimeo send us the public link.
DVD: Just copy the Video_TS file and send via we transfer or any equivalent service.
Movie: Any movie file (flv, mov, xvid, avi ...) - send via we transfer or any equivalent service.
Quality: We only need a preview quality. Ask your technician how to decrease the file size. If we select your work we would ask you to send us a better version.
The deadline for applications is June 15th. We are not able to receive applications after this date.
